Welcome to Combat Karate Jutsu Universe. We teach Old School Traditional Karate, and by that we mean:

1) Kihon, (Basic Technique and drills).

2) Kata, (Forms and patterns which incorporate the underlying principles of Wado Ryu)

3) Kumite, (Fighting, which whilst including Karate Competition techniques, rather than making the main focus sport, emphasises the central and critical importance of self-defence against a non-compliant attacker who wishes the Karateka harm).

Whilst the 3 aspects of Karate have historically been artificially divided, to facilitate the learning and acquisition of what is a complex fighting system, they are in fact different facets of the same diamond. Hence, at an advanced level, we concentrate on the return to Mushin, (empty mind), and Shinpuru-sa, (simplicity). For as Master Ryuu Sho put it, ‘Simplicity is the herald of Mastery.’
